Brigida Mack joined WBTV as a reporter in September 2009. She was promoted in August 2010 and named as a co-anchor for First at 4:00 which launched September 14, 2010. You can see Brigida alongside Jamie Boll every weekday afternoon from 4-5 p.m. She continues to report weeknights on WBTV News at 11:00.
Before coming to Channel 3, Brigida spent several years as an anchor and reporter for another Charlotte television station.
She began her career at WVIR-TV in Charlottesville, VA where she was a reporter and weekend anchor. A native of the Queen City, Brigida is a proud alumna of Myers Park High School (Go Mustangs!). She received her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Brigida has covered the Virginia Tech shootings, interviewed former President Jimmy Carter and famed actress and national Autism spokesperson, Sissy Spacek. Brigida also loves chasing weather and has covered several hurricanes including Isabel, Frances and Ivan as well as an earthquake in Central Virginia!
Brigida was nominated for an Emmy in 2004 for team coverage of Hurricane Frances. Creative Loafing’s readers voted her “Best Local TV Reporter”, in the magazine’s “Best of Charlotte” Awards for four consecutive years, from 2005-2008 and again in 2010. She is also member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
When she’s not chasing news and weather, Brigida enjoys watching college basketball(GO HEELS!), working out, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
