Charmayne started her journalism career as a producer for Waterman Broadcasting (WBBH & WZVN). She quickly earned a spot in front of the camera, as a General Assignment Reporter there for WZVN ABC 7. Years later, Charmayne moved on to be the Education Reporter at WJXT News Channel 4 in Jacksonville, Florida. And after that stint, Charmayne went on to WSPA News Channel 7 in Spartanburg, SC, where she Reported and Filled in at the Anchor desk. Charmayne has covered just about every type of story one could imagine including Hurricanes, Snow storms, Elections and a Super Bowl. She is a storyteller.
Charmayne certainly has a passion for journalism and sharing people’s stories. She also has a print and digital background. In 2009, Charmayne launched her very own inspirational magazine called REJOICE Magazine, where all of the stories are Inspiring, Uplifting, and Encouraging.
Charmayne has a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications (Broadcast Journalism) from the College of Charleston, a Master of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University, and she’s currently pursuing a PhD in Rhetorics, Communication, and Information Design from Clemson University.
Charmayne is a Charleston, SC native. She has three wonderful sons. When Charmayne isn’t working, she loves spending time with family and friends. Charmayne is a proud member of NABJ (National Association of Black Journalists), Delta Sigma Theta Incorporated, and The Links Incorporated.
