Feature: Kyla Marshell

Kyla Marshell writes poems, essays, and nonfiction stories. Her work has appeared in SPOOK Magazine, Gawker‘s “True Stories” series, Blackbird, Vinyl Poetry, and elsewhere. She has written about music for Okayplayer’s REVIVE Channel and Wondaland.com. In 2013, Ebony.com named her one of 7 Young Black Writers You Should Know. She studied writing at Spelman College and Sarah Lawrence College, and is a Cave Canem fellow. She lives in New York.
